By car
Via the B1053 / B1057 between Saffron Walden and Braintree. Allow time for rural roads from the M11 / A120. About 50–60 minutes from much of North London depending on traffic.
Parking
Use the parking pins on the map. Street spaces near the green fill fast on sunny weekends — the Village Hall / recreation area is the best overflow, then a short walk in. Never block driveways or park on the green.
By public transport
No station in the village. Nearest larger hubs include Braintree and Audley End, then bus or taxi. Local buses are limited — check current timetables.
Best time to visit
Weekday mornings are calmer for photos. Summer weekends are busiest. Golden hour flatters the cottages; lavender season nearby is typically midsummer.

It’s a lived-in village. Keep noise down, clear litter, respect residents’ homes, give ducks space, and support local pubs and tearooms.
